AYURVEDA

DOCUMENTED SINCE ABOUT 2000 YEARS

Ayurveda

Once upon a time we all lived Ayurvedically, eating according to the seasons, rising and going to bed with the sun, and knowing which plants/herbs to pick to heal us when we got sick. In other words, this age-old science is based on three pillars: diet; lifestyle and herbal medicine.

Originating in the Indus Valley, it has been practised for 5000 years, documented since about 2000 years.

Ayurveda is the world’s oldest, continuously-performed, complete medical system. It originally comprised eight facets: the two book-ends of life, being conception/pregnancy/labour/care for mother and infant on the one hand and gerontology on the other. Plus everything that a human being might need in between, such as surgery; internal medicine; ear/nose/throat problems; toxicology; psychology and rejuvenation. Nowadays its attraction lies in preventive medicine, learning how to live a life of balance and thus helping to keep disease at bay.

Through a consultation with Nora Coers you will learn which of the five elements (air, fire, water and earth, all four contained by space) are strongest in your constitution. You will also learn which of these are out of balance, as a consequence of diet or lifestyle, and how to bring them back into balance.

Consequently you will be able to address issues such as being overweight or obese; insomnia; memory loss; lack of concentration; pain and depression to name but a few.
